A small game with big secrets — made by two friends who love stories and strange ideas.
Hi! We’re Vojta and Mates. We’re not a game studio. We’re just two people who had an idea, too much coffee, and just enough free time to make it happen.
Chat Mystery is a text-based detective game where you solve mysteries by talking — not with us, but with the characters inside the story. Every suspect, witness, and even the judge you’ll report to is powered by AI.
That means they don’t follow scripts. They don’t repeat lines. They answer you. And you never know what they might say next.
🧩 How it works
After becoming a patron, you can play immediately at 👉 https://game.chatmystery.com
Here’s what you’ll see:
- Pick a case – Choose from available mysteries on the homepage.
- Start chatting – In the middle of the screen is your chat window. This is where you’ll type messages and get replies from in-game characters.
- Switch characters – On the right, you’ll find buttons for each person in the story. Click to switch who you’re talking to.
- Talk freely – There are no commands or special syntax. Just chat like you would with a real person.
- Meet the Referee – One of the characters is always named “Referee.” They’re the only one who knows the full truth behind the case.
When you think you’ve figured it out, switch to the Referee and explain your theory. Be clear, detailed, and logical. The Referee will judge your explanation.
- If you’re missing something, they’ll say so (without spoiling the answer).
- If your reasoning is solid and correct… they’ll declare your VICTORY.
That’s when the game ends — and you’ve officially solved the mystery.
🧠 It’s not a puzzle with one answer
There’s no fixed path. You can accuse the wrong person, lie to the characters, reset the game if you mess it up, or stumble upon the truth by pure luck. We won’t stop you.
Want to roleplay? Go ahead. Want to brute-force every option? Sure. Think of this as a playground for your curiosity.
And yes, sometimes strange things happen. Maybe the suspects contradict each other. Maybe a character says something that doesn’t make sense. Maybe the Referee lets you win when they shouldn’t. Or maybe you get eaten by a shark. (True story.)
That’s part of the fun — and part of what we’re improving all the time.
🛠 Why this isn’t free
Unlike most games, we don’t host all this on our own servers. The characters you talk to are real-time AI models, similar to ChatGPT. That means we pay for every single message that gets sent — even the silly ones. 😅
We don’t make money off ads. We don’t have sponsors. We’re just two friends funding this out of our pockets (and now maybe yours).
